A Teaching Session with Central

Central is an American-style restaurant featuring wood fired dishes prepared with fresh gulf seafood, local meats, greens and other seasonal ingredients courtesy of executive chef leonardo maurelli, III. Located in an 1890’s grocery warehouse, Central highlights exposed brick, flickering gas lanterns, 16ft ceilings and a bustling open kitchen.

Yes, that’s almost a direct copy and paste job from their website at www.central129coosa.com, but what’s not on their website, yet, are shots from our most recent photo session. Last week, I had an excellent time with Chef Leo and his two Sous Chefs, Scotty and Eddie.

We were joined by a young intern from Saint James High School, Rahaf al-hajri, who is looking to pursue a career in photography and had been shadowing me for the day. To help demonstrate various forms of photography, the session was not limited to food photography, but included portraits as well.

Below are the shots that came from that session.
